David Ndihabwe’s #IfIDieTonight EPISODE 2: KHS.

Oh Kigezi High School, how proud I am that you are mine, I will sing your name wherever I go because you are my beloved school. I Serve!

Dear my beloved school, if I die tonight, I will go knowing I was who I was, for the most part, because of you! So I take my last moments to stop and show my gratitude. You made my life worth a living. Thank you for the memories. I can’t put it all in writing but my best memories, no doubt, was made with you.

When I joined you in 2005, I was literally nothing, you accepted me and started to nurture and shape me. My first three and a half years with you wasnt the best-I was just a little boy trying to find my way in the devil’s camp. I made a mess of myself. For all the students(especially S1s) I mistreated, I am really sorry. I did not know what I was doing. Please find a place in your beautiful hearts to forgive me. Well, even after all I did, you did not expel or disown me, only a one week suspension for kicking a cup like it was a ball, while others were in sunday service. That just goes to show you my love for soccer. You noticed it and you gave me my first opportunity on the school team in my S.3, and to this day, I am still part. (Shouts outs to Tushabe Denis Kapi for the opportunities and for believing in me. Thank you Kapi). I take this last opportunity to thank my teammates on the KHS team.(too many names to mention) Without you guys, I would never be who I was. Thank you for the memories and the trophies. And for those that I especially captained, thank you for making it easier for me. That was bliss. That was special. I also would love to use this opportunity for a special shout out to Martin house. I have never felt appreciated like you guys at Martin did. You held a special place in my heart. I loved you and I gave my best for you. As I write this, I’m close to tears because I miss you and will miss you. But I will be above watching your moves. Congratulations upon winning this year’s championship.

Oh Kigezi High School… Thank you for shaping me.. You helped to make the most important decision anyone can ever make-GIVING MY LIFE TO JESUS. And it’s because of this that as I write this down, there is no single doubt in my mind that I will be with HIM today in paradise-If I die tonight. Thank you Paul Kanoti for discipling me in the aftermath of that decision. Thank you KHS fellowship, you shaped and prepared me for the future. Thank you for the prayers, songs, dances, sermons, skits, friends among others.
Thank you KHS for A’Level, that was a whole lot blissful two years. Simply a joy to behold. Still fresh in my mind. Thank you my classmates( too many names to mention) Thank you everyone who was part of this. Thank you for the memories, matches, discussions, soccer debates, “kalele”, parties et al.

Kigezi High School, you accepted me as your own, you celebrated me, you shaped me, you loved me, you gave me many friends that I am leaving behind. My closest friends were given to me by you. You gave me everything I ever needed. You also gave me “The Mrs.” If i die tonight, my only disappointment is that I will leave her behind before we could “know ourselves”. Tell her she should not cry for me and I go knowing I LOVED HER. I’m gone to see The King. KHS keep shaping as many as come to you.

If I Die Tonight, my life ain’t mine, it’s His time. Tell everyone I did what I could and I love them dearly. Tell them, “Love and don’t give up”. And the truth I claim I take to my grave.
